I'm sure the fact that it was unseasonably warm and excessively humid didn't help much. The hottest show was still Municipal Waste @ Cambridge Elks though. But I digress... Let Down was ok; all I could hear was guitar, and the tone was fucking horrendous. Way too much treble and grainy distortion. I'm sure if I heard them in their right element or on CD I'd have a different opinion. They were fun to watch, at least. New Lows were fucking sick. I wish the sound in the ICC was better so I could get the full effect, but you can't win em all. Their CD is awesome. I was expecting Reign Supreme to suck but I was pleasantly surprised. The sound started to get a little better since the room was filling out. Ceremony were fucking awesome, and probably my favorite of the night. There was definitely something unsettling about watching their guitarist. I have no problem with whatever he's doing with his life, but he definitely gave me the creeps, with the full on makeup (lipstick included) and very flamboyant movements on stage. I guess he's doing something right, since I'll never forget that, haha. I enjoyed Blacklisted the last few times I saw them, years ago. I still enjoyed them tonight, but I was ready to pass out from the heat. My only complaint is that most of the songs ended awkwardly. Have Heart were good, but as stated above, I was ready to pass out so I wasn't really feeling it 100%. Luckily the crowd thinned out a bit so there was more breathing room. Their material is solid as fuck and definitely had the fullest sounding set of the night. |
