| ___________________________________ [Jan 21,2009 12:33am - grizloch ""] I care, Chris is a good dude, and while many of his bands are sniped from the MDF roster he puts on a decent fest far from Maryland and MDF's drawing demographic, it sucks that his shits getting fucked when he announced mwff's lineup months ago besides, having AA the week before MDF and only 4 hours from MDF can do nothing but hurt MDF, don't get me wrong, I'd go to both if I wasn't planning to leave for tour that weekend, but I'm not youre typical douchey metal head I get what they say, about giving bands a chance to play more shows in the US, but a large chunk of the bands can and have figured out a way to tour when they want to, and having 2 fests so close together on the east coast is going to provide a host of problems for bands that want to tour between them, a dozen bands will be competing for shows in the same regions, as opposed to spreading out across the midwest and east coast plus if that was their actual purpose, why take bands that already had a show those days? |

And no, there won't be any competition. The only "problem" caused by having both Pigsty and Jig-Ai on AAF and Fuckfest was a shitty house show in Toledo, OH being cancelled that would've paid the bands all of $50. It's not creating problems for the bands, it's making things better. Of course they will want to play AAF when we can offer them more money than that, plus my primary focus is to take care of both Czech bands as they are long time friends of mine. Last year, there was a hubb-bubb about one of the bands (grave?) planning a tour on MDF's tickets. With this fest, the bands can recoup a little more from their $$ and time investment AND MDF doesn't lose money off it. |
