i wouldn't call it a classic but I think it's a decent movie. not AWESOME, but entertaining.

I enjoy all the Freddy and Jason movies for what they are.

Hell of a lot better than Bay the Gay's version of friday the 13th.
A classic? No.

The first 4 fridays and part 6-7 are far superior to any Nightmare on elm st.

Not even the same class.

friday the 13'th flicks are better horror movies, but nightmare on elm street flicks have more overall entertainment value (seriously, what's more fun, watching jason put a machete through someone, or watching freddy turn johnny depp into a blood volcano??)

anyway, i think a movie needs to stand the test of time to be called a classic, so freddy vs. jason is not yet a classic, but it is a fucking awesome movie i.m.o.

jason are def not better horror flicks, in my opinion. better deaths maybe, but actual quality I would go with elm street.

All in all I think Freddys' kills are more creative. Jason usually just stabs. However, the sleeping bag kill in part 7>anything Freddy has done.

while i love the sleeping bag kill, it does not (imo) top

the human puppet (nightmare 3)

the volcano of blood (nightmare 1)

falling from a flying house on to a bed of nails (freddy's dead)

the 80's teenager party massacre (pool party scene in nightmare 2)

sucking the life out of an asthmatic, and turning a broad - who is afraid of bugs - into a cockroach then crushing her inside a roach motel (both from nightmare 4)

slashing up the cardboard superhero that the comic book geek morphed into (nightmare 5)

and (even though it wasn't a kill scene) physically and mentally tormenting young(/deformed/retard/waterhead) jason (freddy vs. jason)
