As some of you may or may not know I was in a pretty bad car accident a little over a month ago. I was fine but some little kid in an SUV totaled my car with about 2 grand left in payments on it. Insurance took a month to settle my claim and pay me for it. During that time I had my rental car towed from right outside my house because the car didn't have enough power to drive on the ice in my driveway. So I bought another car off this guy on Craigslist. Got a sweet deal, the car is working out great. I get a call from him last week that my check bounced. I drop what I'm doing, drive down to the bank, wait a half an hour to talk to a rep and I find out that the money from my insurance company wouldn't be available until the 24th. So I cancel the check, give the guy the remaining balance in cash, and write him a new check. Dude was kind of pissed but he understood. I get another call today from the guy telling me that the check I wrote him won't clear until March 5th. He's trying to be cool about it, but he's obviously pissed and I don't blame him. I just spent 20 minutes on hold with the bank to find out that the money has already left my account, and I can't even give the guy cash for it. Mountains and mountains and mountains of bullshit. |

I unfortunately joined the week before they completely overhauled their computer systems, and they're overwhelmed with old ladies wondering why they can't cash their social security checks in for confederate dollars or God knows what.
