Dissection - "Storm of the Light's Bane" appreciation[views:8048][posts:17]__________________________________________ [Mar 13,2009 7:06pm - TheGreatSpaldino ""] this album is still raping my ass after buying it like 11 years ago. it just has such an incredible atmosphere... something most newer albums lack. it really sounds like they were playing instruments of evil, black ice on top of a mountain and just had microphones pick up the echoes on a reel to reel recorder using tape made out of sinew from tons of slaughtered christians. anyone that hates this album is a faggot. |

__________________________________________ [Mar 13,2009 9:22pm - TheGreatSpaldino ""] shut up |

It possesses a virility that sets it apart from other Black Metal. A strange feeling comes over me when I listen to Dissection. Very potent songwriting. |

___________________________________ [Mar 14,2009 6:09pm - dreadkill ""] one of my favorite albums of all time. a fucking classic. |
_________________________________________ [Mar 14,2009 6:13pm - BobNOMAAMRooney ""] I prefer The Somberlain over Storm of Light's Bane but it's like the way I prefer straight up fucking over getting my dick sucked. |
________________________________________ [Mar 14,2009 6:15pm - DestroyYouAlot ""] So is Reinkaos like a reacharound? |
_________________________________________ [Mar 14,2009 6:18pm - BobNOMAAMRooney ""] Reinkaos is "accidentally" touching a girl's boob in the hall when you're in 8th grade. |
________________________________________ [Mar 14,2009 6:21pm - DestroyYouAlot ""] So, orgasmic? |
______________________________________ [Mar 14,2009 10:47pm - spacecorpse ""] I like Reinkaos a lot. I tihnk the problem most people had with it is that they wanted it to be the same style as the earlier albums and it took so long in between albums so they just got so used the old sound. When you listen to the album on it's own it's still the same basic idea of Dissection- catchy riffs, melody, ferocious vocals, high quality musicianship. Very interesting lyrics also. |

_____________________________________ [Mar 15,2009 3:17am - spacecorpse ""] why's that? Oh let me guess, just because I like Reinkaos and the majority of people hate it ooooh ok I guess I need to follow the herd like you do mister C.dead wooo hoo. THis thrwad is actually about the Storm Of The Lights Bane record anyway and I will say that that's a great album, and basically what the whole entire new england scene wishes to aspire to. Forget originality, it's overrated right? |

I tried not to compare it to "Storm..." and judge it based on what it was on its own, but I still couldn't get into it. "Storm..." was Dissection at their finest I think; their earlier output wasn't bad, but those guys really nailed it with that one. |
