BOOK OF BLACK EARTH tours with Withered, Insanity[views:16852][posts:2]_______________________________________ [Apr 15,2009 12:14am - the_reverend ""] BOOK OF BLACK EARTH CONFIRM SHOWS WITH WITHERED, INSANITY Seattle's BOOK OF BLACK EARTH -- whose doomy, blackened death 2008 concept album, Horoskopus, won extensive media acclaim -- have been added to labelmates Withered's Thursday (Apr. 16) show at the Union Pool in Brooklyn, N.Y. The bands, who recently toured together in support of underground legends Watain, will then travel to Worcester, Mass. to play the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival. The following weekend, BOOK OF BLACK EARTH -- who recently completed a tour with Cattle Decapitation and Psyopus -- will resume gigging in the Pacific Northwest, when they play two shows with Insanity and Scorched Earth. Says drummer Joe Axler, "We are all really excited to get a chance to play the New England Metalfest this year and to get to share the stage again with our friends and labelmates Withered. We're ready to brutalize the east coast again, then return home and do the same on our coast for a few shows with the mighty Insanity!" According to vocalist/guitarist T.J. Cowgill, Horoskopus is about "hidden astrological elements of the Christian church. >From its origins as a state-sponsored religion in the 4th Century to the present day, it has been guided by astrological concepts conceived centuries before Jesus Christ was mythologized as the 'Sun' of God."
