I am 100 percent anti smoking and to me it's personal because it killed my mother. On the flip of the coin...we allow smoking at the space because we believe people have the right to do what they want (personal freedom). I smoke weed so I'd be a fucking hypocrite to knock the dude next to me for dragging on a butt. Doesn't mean I have to like it...but yeah...for the non smoking majority that comes to these shows...I think we are gonna try to do a more controlled smoking area and industrial fans for next time. Mars Gas Chamber is still a new space and we are working through it, so we will figure how to make things better and run smoother as we progress. I'm glad people had a good time. Both me and Ben busted ass for a month and a half straight to get this running and it definitely was a success all around and we raised ALOT of $. So I'm happy. I do gotta say there was alot of crusty puke that me and my gf had to clean up the next day. BRUTAL. I'm gonna start supplying fuckin puke bags to anyone with an Amebix patch at the next show. Your personal freedoms stop where my toes begin and since people who smoke around others force smoke down others throats, that is not a personal freedom. a personal freedom would be someone eating a cheeseburger around me. they can do it all they want, but if they cram the burger into my mouth, throat, body there is an issue. I'm not saying that the cigarette smoke there was oppressive. Just saying that it was there and weird that it was there. One of the times I saw MOD, billy milano said "thanks for smoking remind me to shit in a bag and make you smell it" I'm still amazed. I was thinking "this show is doing ok" and then dropdead got on stage and I thought "this show is doing awesome!" |
