Been out a few times. Nailing Pic and Perch mainly but simply because my lake is very shallow. Just got a bunch of new tackle and am going to experiment with some crank bait in a secret cove/hole.
Hoping to get a new bait caster reel this year too.

Heading out in a bit. Hoping to do way more salt water this year. Typically launching out of west island.

Have hit Lake Sunapee twice so far trolling for land-locked salmon. 1st day was a little slow (only 1 fish), but last Sunday we picked up 4 fish -- all over 3lbs, 1 was possibly over 4lbs. Trolling live smelt very, very slow -- about 1.2mph -- as slow as my kicker motor will go.

Landed my first Rainbow Trout today! Fucked up sky...worked a new minnow lure off a rocky beach that was rather shallow. Dragged it left to right cross a sand bar then he took it...fucking awesome!

When it becomes a psychotic obsession, it can pass as a sport.

some people only define things like fishing as "sports" (i.e. something that is actually a survival skill turned recreation) and call football, hockey, etc "games"

golf does take skill, but it isn't a real sport. it's a competition, it's a game, but it's not a sport. until other golfers can hit tiger woods, i won't consider him an athlete.

Walleyes? In my boat? More likely than you think. My buddy Tom (ex-LAZ bass-player) with a 21" walleye caught and released on the CT River. I don't know much about walleye fishing, but I know you usually don't target them with rubber worms in 4ft of water in the middle of the day...textbook goes out the window again...

Yeah, I know nothing about Walleye. I wanted to hit them when I was orginally supposed to go out to Wyoming but I'm not going anymore...
What you got for a boat there?

BSV, you should take a trip up to Wisconsin or Minnesota and fish one day. Walleye everywhere, lakes around every corner.

Ever went fly fishing out west?

16ft Lowe side console
40hp Johnson with 3hp kicker (kicker not on in picture, but you can see the kicker plate on the right)
Motorguide bow mount electric trolling motor
You can see the downrigger fittings on the left and right -- I take them off for bass/pike and other casting trips
It's kind of old (1992) and I've owned it for over 10 years -- still runs great and hasn't sunk yet (knock on wood). I trailer it all over NH.

Was supposed to go through WI, MN, SD and MT for my trip-so I can't say I have been there yet.

I can't fly fish yet. My buddies do it, havn't really landed anything impressive other than a bunch of small perch at the test pond we try new things at.

Nice setup. I hope to have that one day! For now I rock my canoe which is handy for a pond loaded up with treacherous stumps and champion bass. Been using alot of row boats with just a 2.2 Mercury and 5 speed trolling motor. If I had $500 to drop I'd totally get me a nice Kayak.

Nothing wrong with canoes, kayaks and small row boats -- they allow you to get in and out of places with shitty access, so you don't have to battle with the bubba bass 275 hp crowd. I can get my boat in some pretty tight places, but it is trailer only -- that fucker is HEAVY.

not at all dude. light, affordable, easy to launch at just about anywhere too. Depending on Lake size (i'm sure its different in NH) I think anyone with 100+ HP outboard should just take out on the ocean. Leave the lakes to the diehards!

You should see the ridiculous boats some of these retards put in our lakes -- esp. Winnipesaukee. I can tolerate some of the bass fisherman (sometimes), but the pleasure boaters are just douches.

I think the lakes have gained about 14"s of water in the past two months.

i was at my Grampa's house on Webster Lake and saw the 10 year old next door grab a 4 lb Largemouth like a foot from the shore, it was pretty impressive. that lake is hard to fish in due to the amount of activity and fishing that goes on.

I want to go fishing with Charlie Moore.

last week a 8 year old caught a 8.5 lb large mouth somewhere in Milford. Charlie Moore! bumped into him totally cocked at a Bruins game once. He has a show on espn now too. I'd fish with him as long as he'd hit the sherlock, calm down buddy, you're scaring all the fish!

I went out this morning with my father and another old timer, landed 30 Tautog (Blackfish) but kept 11 legal sized at 16"+ . Tautog rule, they fucking hit the rod like a rubber ball plus they have a very mild taste that you probably didn't know was in your chowder. Fished live green crabs with the anchor dropped in about 18 Feet of water. They live in the rocks so it makes for some interesting play once they run with it.

FUCKING LOVE FISHING
