it wasn't the FCC that suspended him. the FCC can't do that (1995 deregulation). It was WTKK that suspended him. the "women with mustaches and VD" comment was hilarious. The other stuff he's said plenty of other times. This show he was very outspoken about how mexicians come to the US only to spread disease. It's not that they were "out there" but a lot of them seemed "out of place" even for this douche.

So let me ask you this, how do you think one becomes legal? Do you think you can just apply, wait, then get in? Or do you think all you have to do is marry an American? If not, how do you think someone comes in legally? If you don't have a relative here, and aren't a student, you have basically no chance whatsoever of being accepted. And i don't know about you, but if i were born in a third world country, and my options were to live in poverty and not be able to support myself or my family, or go to another country that has more resources, jobs, and opportunities than would EVER be available to me..i think i would try to get accepted legally into that country.... only to realize that getting INTO that country without close relatives already being citizens is near impossible, and if I did get accepted, I'd have to wait 5-10years (still very rare)to actually move there, i am pretty sure i would take a chance and try to sneak in.
My reasoning would probably go something like this... Why shouldn't i have the chance to work hard and actually support myself and the ones i love? Because i wasn't born in the country? Wait a minute, i thought the US was started entirely by immigrants? Well, besides the Native Americans that the "immigrants" slaughtered to near genocide, but that's off the topic. Because i wouldn't want to slaughter anyone, i just want a chance to work hard, to pay my taxes.. ya know, have something that resembles a normal life..
Complain all you want about immigrants taking jobs from "Real Americans" But i still haven't met a single American who was upset because his job cleaning dishes was taken by immigrants. Sure maybe people are angry with immigrants for working for less money than is the norm for a given profession (almost always labor, it's probably pretty hard to get an office job without papers.) but again, anyone could do that, you could go out and work for less than an immigrant and take all their work, but you wouldn't want to because you would feel "cheated". Because your an American and you should be paid more than a wetback... or if you don't feel that way, why should you have the right to the job and they don't?
Let's look at a similar situation. Cars used to be put together by people. Actual people putting all the parts together, but then one day people designed machines to do it cheaper.. and all those people lost their jobs. We didn't try to make the assembly machines illegal because they "Hurt the American worker". That's just part of the fun of capitalism. Your job CAN suddenly be worth less, for a million reasons, and i bet you don't complain when companies compete for your money by lowering prices, why should it bother you when your being competed with? It's not your right to have a job, and getting mad because someone wants to do your job cheaper than you is plain ol stupid. Go to school, do something that pays better, or deal with it and make less money.

While i understand where your coming from, it's still a pretty big generalization. You'd probably assume i'm biased because of my wife, but because of her I've met and spent time with more illegals than most citizens have. And whether or not you beileive it, i know for a fact that 9/10 of the ones i know have been trying to become legal since years before they even came here.
Let's take my wife for example, she was a surgeons assistant in Brazil and worked 60-70 hours a week there, and still made just enough that her and her son had to eat nothing but rice for two meals a day, Never mind any sort of amenities. During which she spent just under 10grand, and 4 years with lawyers and applications to get even a temporary visa. Which even after all that didn't happen. So instead of accepting an inpovershed life for her and her son, she paid another 5grand to get smuggled into this country. Yup, i said 1 5 grand. And she has spent almost another 5 while she has been here to try and become legal... which may I add, even though she isn't legal, she has an IRS tax ID number, and pays her taxes every year just like you or me.
So again, i could see how people think the way that they do, but try to put yourself in a similar situation that my wife was in, and think whether or not you would have done anything differently.
I still think that people NOT trying to become legal, or people that got smuggled in without trying to get approved for a visa, or people who even do both of those but DON'T pay taxes should be deported. I just think that too many Americans put all immigrants in the same category; and when that group of people are all looked at as lazy criminals who wanna take our jobs, and destroy our country it's really not right, and i think they need to me informed better.

I don't know what that is supposed to mean. The FCC's job is to ensure that two frequencies are not being used at the same time or are too close to each other. They are supposed to regulate the industry, not content. We can argue over whether they should regulate content but that was never their original job. I understand that they have grown, however, it does seem that they have overstepped their boundaries. If we are going down that path, it does seem that the fairness doctrine would come into play: if you can regulate content (the arguement being that you need to look out for the welfare of the listeners) then many opposing points of view need to represented equally in all markets to ensure that people are receiving many different perspectives to not get an over abundance of one. The more enraging thing is how subjective these laws are. It looks like they were originally written to be interpreted as we go along so the contemporary culture could determine what is to be considered "indecent", but they have been so misused to essentially black mail stations into censoring their hosts and create an environment of fear for your job if you say something that is deemed "offensive". I own XM and am very pleased with the content and general lack of restrictions there in, but I can only assume that that will be regulated soon enough. Boo content restrictions, yay offensive shit.

Well then explain something to me please. When this scenario happens, what do you think these people should do? You don't agree that they should be allowed to stay, because like you said "a crime is a crime" So what other options are there? I can't think of any besides either sucking it up or sneaking in.
Maybe you don't quite understand what i was saying, but in the situation that i was talking about, there really AREN'T any other options. And saying we shouldn't allow them to stay when they've done everything in their power to do it legally (because a crime is a crime) does imply something in the "suck it up" catagory.
Now i don't think that should be our protocol, I think what needs to happen is major immigration reform, but until that point, our country was build on the idea that all men are created equal, and no matter where you were born, and no matter what color your skin, you should have the same chance as anyone else to have a life not overriden with poverty. So while obviously i can't deny that it's illegal, i can say that there SHOULD be a protocol for the situation i gave, and it should include giving these people a chance at life.

What would you do in that situation? You've tried for years, cannot get in, can't feed your children, and will need to pull your children out of 4th and 6th grade to work 15 hour days to pay for rent (1 bedroom for your family) and food(rice)?

Look, if I had my way, it would become infinitely easier to become a citizen but it's not. I'd much prefer an illegal immigrant return to their country rather than have something shitty to them happen or do something shitty and get away with it because they're illegal. I side with the law whenever it comes to immigration because I personally know people who have done it within the past few years and they also lived in shitty situations. The brother had to have brain surgery when he was like 8 after being shot in the head by someone trying to rob their house of what little they had. The mother didn't have a job. The father was very very old. The sister was too young to be of any help. They've been living legally in the states now for 6 or 7 years. The mother is a nurse. The brother is going to art school. The sister is studying pre-med. It's possible.

If I were in the situation, I would most definitely try to get in legally first. Take the proper steps and map out how feasible it would be for me. If it were really IMPOSSIBLE (as I doubt it would be, maybe incredibly hard but not impossible), I would find a way to sneak in. The thing is, it does take hard work to manage to get in here legally but people have to do it. It's not so much "suck it up" as much as "try, try, and try again." Things may be tough, but wouldn't the outcome be so much better?

Maybe you know something i don't about how to get in, but i don't just know one family who's been through this, and i've even tried to help cousins of my wife, with no success, for the entire time i've known my wife (4years) in which time my wife's son got killed selling dope to help pay rent. I know most situations aren't that bad, but thinking that none are is naive, and thinking that all in that all people in that position can get in legally if they try hard enough is also naive.
And i wasn't name calling, at first you were implying that people shouldn't come illegally no matter what, and i was trying to show you that sometimes there isn't a choice.
