How late do the commuter rails run?

Hey there Bostonians...

I'm coming into town tonight for the Mastodon show, and my friends and I were thinking of driving to the outskirts of the city, then hopping on the commuter rail to avoid having to deal with in-city parking (apparently the venue is close to Fenway, so I reckon parking blows down there).

Anyways... I'm wondering how late those trains run. I don't want to come out of the show and get stranded. I know how Mass is about closing everything way earlier than we're used to here in NY.

Anyways... thanks.....

Also, assuming we go through with this plan... Where's the best place to catch the rail?

Thanks.

There is a game tonight. I'm willing to just deal with parking, but the driver doesn't want to.

You shooting the show?

Best bet is probably to pick up the Red Line in Braintree or Quincy. Schedule is here: http://www.mbta.com/schedules_and_maps/subway/lines/?route=RED

Warning: you'll have to change trains at Park to pick up the Green line, or hike in over the bridge from Kendall. Either way it gets dicey if the show goes past 11:30.

Thanks for the info. guys.

Any ideas of a good place to find parking if we drive into the city?

Even if it's a distance from the HoB, we could jump on the subway, or whatever.

I hate parking in Boston proper, so I usually use the Green Street garage by the Middle East in Cambridge. Easy to get to (highway->Storrow->Mass Ave), it's right next to the Central Sq. Red line, and not too far to walk back to if a show gets out after the trains stop running. Five bucks for up to all night, which is a lot cheaper than anywhere around the HoB if the Sox are playing.

Thanks dude.

I actually just called the MBTA and got the "low-down".

Does this scenario sound about right to you.....

The dude said that we would take the Braintree subway to Park station, then from there, to Landsdown (forgot the name of the station).

The dude told me that as long as we get on the train by 11:50 to go back to Park, we'll be able to catch the 12:20 back to Braintree.

Thanks for your help!

Last Question...

Is this the best route?

Braintree ---> Park Station (swith to Green Line) ---> Kenmore?

I've seen Mastodon enough times where I'm not too worried about missing the last couple songs. I'm no super fan. hahaha.

Yeah, that's it; get off the Green line at Kenmore and follow the signs like you're going to Fenway. Just whatever you do, don't take the E train going out of Park, it branches off two stops before the Kenmore stop.
