It's about a metal band in Iraq that Vice had been following for years. It follows them for a couple years as they try to play metal shows in Baghdad, their practice space gets blown up, all the guys eventually have to flee to Syria just to keep their families safe. It's a pretty fucked up story about post-war Iraq, and at the same time kind of an endearing story about guys who essentially risk their lives and freedom just to play Slayer covers. |

Two of them are in NJ (I believe) and the other is randomly in Michigan. I was happy to meet them when they first got to NY backstage at a Testament show. I thought they looked familiar and went probably an hour thinking "damn, those guys look really familar!" before realizing it was them. heh. Happy for them to have gotten the F out of there. |
