| _____________________________ [Jul 5,2009 9:10pm - Lamp ""] Considering I went to both South of the Border and Myrtle Beach yesterday, my weekend was chock full of "huh?". If you had blindfolded me and taken me to Myrtle I would have sworn up and down that I was actually in Florida. If there was one thing that made me go "HUH!?" and pissed me off way more than anything else in that city was the bill when I went to a seafood buffet... 24 fucking dollars a plate! I could have gone to Golden Corral and gotten the same quality, maybe even more for a third of the price, maybe even less! The beach itself however was very nice, absolute perfect temperature, and I'd like to visit the town in the off-season. The other attraction couldn't have made it more obvious I was in South Carolina. I'm sure some people on this board have been to South of the Border before, but if you haven't I'm sure you can imagine the gigantic clearance of cheap crap being shoveled onto people there... every little worthless trinket you could possibly imagine with the name of the location on it and a cartoon depiction of a Mexican to match. I put a dime in the drop box at the counter and got a couple stickers to take home, and a couple bottles of Mad Dog 20/20 for a total of four bucks. At least you can get good bargains somewhere in SC. |
