Oh, and don't get a 250, I have 3-4 of them and they are great but 250GB is an awkward space especially if you start doing above 128kbps. by far my favorites are the western digital passports. get a 500GB one of those for under $100. Problem is that they only come with a 1 year warranty, but they are solid as hell. I wish I could trade 3 250GB for one 500GB. I would do it in a heard beat. |

I would highly not recommend this and just look for a WD 500GB passport (best buy sometimes has them on sale for $100 if you have some gift certs kicking around). The reason is cause with an external case, it won't be as solid AND you will be tempted to pull it apart when you need to tx from other 2.5" hd. that's my problem atleast. |

I would personally pull out the C and D drives and replace them with one or two 1TB drives. I just replaced my laptop 320GB with a 500GB without reinstalling windows by 1) downloading and burning this iso http://clonezilla.org/download/sourceforge/stable/iso-zip-files.php 2) hooking up my drives and rebooting from the CD I just burnt 3) cloning local drive to local drive including MBR 4) swapping the drives and booting off the new drive. worked brilliantly. The only thing is that I'm using windows xp and not vista so now I have to figure out how to grow the main partition. |
