What impresses me most about guys like this, is that they don't hit as hard as most metal drummers, but they hit consistently and they hit properly so that the drums sound big regardless. That's just good technique. Some drummer put more emphasis on that aspect of their playing, which in some cases results in a less exciting sound, but more proficient playing. |

You hit it right on the nose Rooster, guys like this fix exactly what they need to do. a great drummer for me fits the musicians hes playing with. as well as adding to the band and putting his voice in the music. if im listening to something, whatever style of music it is, and a fill or something sticks in my head and makes me wanna play it. Thats usually how i figure out if i like the drummer or not. I was mostly speaking of drummers with no soul that sit back and just play and are pretty much a walking breathing metronome. |
