"Freedom": revenge against those who want order?

Still mulling over this one:

Conservationist said:Why would you want to limit the ability of a single community to be, say, white, Christian, straight and conservative?

They're not telling everyone what to do -- just selecting what they want to do.

Because entitled assholes who are too ignorant and hateful to tolerate people who don't share their exact ancestry or sexual preference do not deserve to get what they want.

It seems to me that "freedom" is a one-way street for the individual to demand the ability to be deconstructive, or do whatever they want regardless of the cost to others, but it does not allow groups to make standards, set up culture, etc.

"Freedom" is inherently against culture and shared values.

Then again, culture and shared values are the only forces that can compete with authoritarian governments or large companies and keep them away.

Could it be "freedom" itself IS our slavery?

freedom is the first step towards enslavement

I'm not debating it; I'm using it as a jumping off point for another discussion.

It was gold and I had to

freedom is chaos, and chaos is freedom. anarchy is freedom but basic human instinct would result in chaos.

Culture should be voluntary, IMHO, else it's just an act to avoid making waves. Main problem with the giant nation-state is you can't go over the next hill if you don't like the setup in your village. The more people you lump together, the less they can possibly have in common.

I prefer the term "karmic desires." Interesting thread on that:

You posted it out of context, without the part that I had a lot of reasons but that was the least complicated one.

Also: this is one of those condescending comments you "don't realize" you're doing. I don't share your opinions on humanity so you patronize the shit out of me waiting for a statement to mock.

I disagree. I am not looking for statements to mock. What I'm looking for is clear statements of reasoning, and you are more articulate than most people of your political persuasion in this arena, as well as more likely to offer up such sentiments. (It's why I enjoy our e-"conversations" on this forum.)

If it seems patronizing, I apologize, as that is not and has never been my intention. But I would like to make this dialogue lucid...

This is silly Conservationist. People don't have rights to force people not to do things for a race related reason. It's as simple as that. Sure, white European people are totally allowed to live in a community with all their white nigger-hatting brothers, but as soon as you tell someone that they CAN'T do something other people CAN do for no other reason than race, than you're violating their rights.

Am i wrong, or am i right? I BEG anyone who reads this post of mine to tell me if i'm off on anything. (besides grammer and spelling... you web-snobz)

Why?

Why must every community conform to your standard?

I see an assertion, no argument!

During a play, we all know & see what's happening on stage; the question is what's going on backstage?

So we should obey all laws just because they're the laws?

OK, turn in your friends for marijuana use -- they're not obeying the laws!

I'm asking for the reason why.

Why is this an important value.
