A bit slower at time, more thump, more about the riffs and the structure than about the impact of each part. There's this one song they play a lot live that I believe Pete does the riff for. It is mostly clean (obviously something I wouldn't expect on the last two records) and it kind of chugs along on that riff by itself for a bit. Old Network was just about smashing everything in sight, while new T_N seems to be about a whole new thing. I am only on 3x with the record (been busy as hell) but I don't think you would recognize the band. Tim's drumming seems different, too. |
