Is there always a 10% overrun? Is this something I can count on?

You can count on great customer service, and a quality job. I don't know about the over run.

It's either a 10% overrun or underrun. Good thing is, if there is a 10% overrun, you get 10% more CDs.

Overruns are usually because one or two stages of the process are very involved and it's better to run a few extra pieces in case something goes wrong along the way so that, in that instance, they have more copies to work with and can junk the shitty ones. It's like if you baked 30 cookies knowing that maybe a half dozen might not come out right and you know you needed at least 24 really good ones for some occassion.

Overruns are pretty much industry standard for most multi-stage processes of just about anything, and I wouldn't sweat it. I'd rather a place use that technique than say HEY WE ONLY DID 485 PIECES CAUSE THE MACHINE JAMMED (which could also happen, but is far less likely if they do an overrun).

Perhaps a better comparison is that when I buy screws or nails I always buy extra cause I know I will lose one or two or bend them.

I actually received almost 20% more than I ordered for the Composted CDs, but only paid an extra 10%.

no, I understand what overrun is.. I just was wondering if it always happens. But MFR, if there is 10% over, its free... but if there is 20% they charge for the 10%?

I guess what I am implying is there's no way to know until the job is considered "finished" by all parties involved. It's chance.

No, they charge 10% more if there are 10% more CDs than you ordered. They just had an extra 10% on top of the extra 10% because I ordered half of the CDs in cases and half without. Kind of a glitch in the system.

The 10 percent overrun is always there, it exists for fucked up cds. Last 1000 cds I ordered from them only 4 of the 100 overrun were bad.

Yes they always do the 10%. Boarcorpse just ordered 1000 and got 1100.... within a week of when we ordered em. I love that company.
