What would your major be?

Bridgewater state, Fitchburg state or maybe a umass? It's all about your essay and entrance shit. SATs are meaning less and less each year.

If you're not sure just be undecided or liberal arts

It's not that they mean less but that school's are accepting dumber kids. I read this thing about how it was a ploy at diversification. There are some kids in my program at NU that are unbelievably stupid. Dumber than me. A great essay will be the clincher for sure though.

I have 2 Certs in Database Administration as well as a year and a half work experience doing just that. I also have close to half of an AD in D.A. from middlesex community college.

I just want to finally buckle down and go to school full-time to get my bachelors. Its something that will be worth it in the long run.

I'm just worried that no college/university would except me as I never took the SATs.

make some calls to admissions offices at places you might apply. See what your options are. There might even be continuing education SATs. Not sure. But I'm sure they could point you in the right direction of what they might require.

No I graduated. I've heard having a GED wouldn't bar you from being accepted to a place like umass amherst lolol

I have a BS in CS and love it. I do wish I took the db class since that's all I do now.

Hey fuck you guys, I have a GED. haha. Since you went to a community college you should have no trouble getting into a state university (assuming you maintained a decent GPA?). SAT's are one test, from high school...years spent at a community college are a better gauge of what kind of student you'll be anyway.

Good for you! Just don't do what I did and hang out in Liberal Arts "deciding" what you want to do. I'd have my BA by now if I made up my goddamn mind 3 years ago!

I was undecided for two years (could give to shits about it back then), went to pursue Marine Biology down in Wood's Hole (UMD has a huge connection there) but they required me to stay and extra year for college because I hadn't taken enough Science courses. So I basically just fell back on English Communications because I had been getting As in all those classes. Retarded move.
I work in insurance now and don't even use my degree. Don't make the mistake I did. At least decide what you want to do by Sophomore year.
I want to go back to school somepoint soon and get a master's but I don't see that happening at least for another 10 years..

No offense, but I heard that's a dying field because a number of companies are outsourcing that now. But, some of my friends do database stuff and make decent money, so whatever. Also depending on what shcool you go to, be prepared for professors that DONT speak english too well.

A lot of places need local IT, though. Here at 3M there are the guys in St. Paul (not quite India but the same kind of idea) who do the major IT work but the local guys are always busy.
