The bass-drums-vocals configuration provides for lumbering, dirge-like soundscapes, which are infused with monastic and Tibetan chanting. Also appearing are Six Organs of Admittance, the musical vehicle of guitarist Ben Chasny, who seems to worship at the altar of John Fahey, and Lichens, Robert Lowe’s immersive weaving of looping wordless vocals into sheets of drone.
