During the tour, which kicks off Nov. 7 in Kettering, Ohio, Abasi will be backed by second guitarist Javier Reyes, Chebon Littlefield (laptop), and drummer Navene Koperweis (Animosity, The Faceless). "Navene and I have actually been talking about working together for quite some time now," says Abasi, noting that Reflux and Animosity have previously toured together. "I'm stoked that it's finally going down! Anyone who has seen his work with Animosity or The Faceless or heard his solo project Fleshrot understands what he's capable of on both drums and guitar." In addition to the BTBAM dates, Animals As Leaders will also play a one-off, all-ages show with labelmates (and fellow progressive instrumentalists) Scale The Summit at the Dallas House of Blues (Cambridge Room) on Nov. 17. Advance tickets are just $10 and go on sale this Saturday (Oct. 24).
