Wishbone Ash is widely considered the first band to use dual guitar harmonies in a classic metal stance. Though they're somewhat lobbed into the early British prog vibe-there is a certain attitude and attack to their playing which makes them more hard hitting, fueled by sweet overdrive and thick bass tone. Makes sense that Steve Harris claims this was the band Iron Maiden wanted to be. Highly recommend picking up a copy of "Argus" if you find one. |
