What I'm getting at specifically is.... Just as an example, say I make a "Deftones Appreciation Thread," there will definitely be posts saying how much the Deftones suck, and I think that makes no sense. Obviously, if you think the Deftones suck, an appreciation thread wasn't made for you. Now, if the thread was titled "What do you think of the Deftones," then commence with the bashing all you want. I don't know, just seems silly to me. |

Fuck the social networking aspect of it; a lot of great bands post their material there and the access to info on bands I've found to be extremely convenient. In terms of promotion, never really did much for OR, maybe I was doing it wrong. |

You pay $20 (IIRC) for 100 plays on band-specific radio stations where you pick the bands (ex: I did that for Crippling Fear and picked stations for bands like Weekend Nachos, Infest, Spazz, etc.) I thought that was pretty cool. ...and as far as the similar artists, I don't know this for sure, but I think they base it on how many people who listen to a given band listen to another band. What I mean by that is if Crippling Fear has 100 listeners, if 95 of those 100 listeners also listen to Infest, then Infest would be considered a similar artist. |
