I would say any modern first world country where "successful" societies have already been established. i.e. any part of modern Europe, or this country. It's tough to use modern notions of "liberal and diverse" when talking about Old World/ancient empires but the Inca were vast. ancient empires - "liberal" with caste systems... Mongolia (hundreds of cultures) Rome (world influence) Egypt (vast and highly advanced..in historical context) Persia (Zoroastrianism = free will) don't forget Indus, Tigris, Euphrates.... The most conservative successful societies are hard to find but societies such as Japan, and to a lesser extent, China, are unique. All the rest are third-world countries. |
