Anyone want to be a guitar nerd and join me to see who's got what for equipment?

Guitars: ESP LTD M-250, ESP LTD Deluxe M-1000, Ibanez Prestige 1527

Head: Peavey 5150-II
Cab: Peavey 5150
Rackmount: Rocktrock Super Hush C & BBE Sonic Maximizer

Anyone have any ideas of what I should add to my rack? I'm planning on getting a Korg tuner for it, possibly a wireless system, and possibly a compression unit.

lol i got mine $100 used. you're talking about somethin like a Shure ULX wireless which runs for like $600. there is one wireless that Sennheiser made but stop production (i have no idea why) that was an all digital wireless and only cost $300

[Apr 13,2004 4:37pm - RustedAngel ""]
you don't need a wireless unless you're going to do flips off the stage. it's funny seeing people with a wireless who don't move more than 10 feet from their amp.

ascendancy takes full advantage of a wireless system and leaves the club.

When I pick my wireless unit up it feels pretty real. It looks real when I use it at shows too, hmm. ($240)

[Apr 13,2004 4:45pm - Kalopsia ""]
i don't go as far as leaving the club, but with a wireless i have the freedom to move all over the stage and not worry about getting tangled in chords and such. and i'l probably get in the crowd once in a while too

having a wireless helps when you dont need a cord pulling down your volume pedal by accident (if you have one), and its fun moving around to (gasp) the other side of the stage.

i used someone's wireless for my bass at a show once and i liked it, even though i really don't move around much. it's definitely not necessary for me, but i wouldn't mind having it.

Depending on the thickness of the wall and the distance and direction from the stage, usually we can hear fairly well, sometimes just barely. We both have base model Shure wireless units, ~$250 and the range is decent through said walls, etc. Only one way to find out how far you can get with yours.

My eqpt is listed on our website, but as a recap I play a Gibson 1970ish SG standard (discontinued - notice the p90s if you see pics, which are also on the website under the Bios section) into a Lab Series (gibson's short lived amp company) L3 60w preamp then a Marlboro 150W Stereo Power Amp into a 4x12 Ampeg and a 4x12 Ultrastack Behringer. I don't use effects at all except the spring reverb on the head for color and a Rat pedal to overdrive.

so to recap:

1970 Gibson SG standard
ProCo Rat distortion pedal
Lab Series L3 60w head
Marlboro 150W Stereo Power amp
Ampeg 4x12 cabinet
Behringer Ultrastack 4x12 surround sound cabinet

obviously the Ampeg isn't very loud, it's just there to color the sound. makes a good monitor, too.

whoa Phantos...I don't like all the effects but man...I envy your amps with the Morley AB...that's what I want to do for my rig. What's the first head from left to right? The second is a Red Bear?

Sunn Beta Lead (ss) and Red Bear MK120 (russian point to point tube)

I have also been known to use a Randall RBh120 bass head.
we are kinda loud... but aren't we all.
