Someone had told me David Carradine was awful but I disagree despite their sound most likely not being fully formed. Half Shaved Yak was cool and different, some metal, some ambience, even some surf. Human Adult Band sucked AIDS through a crazy straw. Know Nothing is on now and while it's definitely a step up, I'm fairly bored of them. Why have three guitarists in one band? |

So I don't like to bash bands so much. But Human Adult Band fucking sucked. They took about 12 centuries to set up, on a fucking DIY show. By the time they had finally set up the sun had burnt out and exploded into a supernova, so at least I didn't exist to hear their godawful band... or so I kept imagining to myself. I think at one point Eddie Vedder pulled up in a limo to ask what the hell was taking them so long. Know Nothing was amazing as far as I'm concerned. I had never heard or seen them before tonight. But when it's 3 am on Martin Luther King day and I'm in my basement cutting myself and performing candle rituals to carpathian demons the noise that my brain makes is note for note what Know Nothing plays. Best band I've heard in a while. The end result of A. the show being pushed back some and B. Human Time Waster Machine taking all night was that there wasn't enough time for the last 2 bands to play as scheduled. SO, in one of the coolest sets I've ever been a part of, we set up side by side and went one for one. Absolute chaos, and one of the funnest times I've ever had in music. |
| _______________________________ [Jan 30,2010 11:13am - Lamp ""] Misanthropic Noise/In The Shit split set was fucking awesome... the two styles actually went together really well, having an alternation between crusty grind and the more "grindviolence" type style I guess you could say with the high vocals. I really wasn't sure what to expect from In the Shit before this show honestly. A lot of things had been said about the band on this forum, including promotion. I had heard the demo songs, but it didn't really register with me, partially because it wasn't really what I was expecting to hear either. But the set was tight and punishing... great job guys. Would see again. |

The split 7" is easily one of my favorite ways to hear about a new band and doing a split with a band as well known as Godstomper is definitely a good way to get your name out there. |
