I just read last week how this works. I thought it was a compressor or an EQ, but actually it corrects envelope distortion/phase problems. I had no idea.

Tell me your thoughts on it.

Great for bass players and PAs, not so great if you like mids in your guitar sound.

Makes anything organic sound very digital... The sound of it makes me cringe... also what Blue said

ive used a bbe 462 rackmount with my rig since i got my 5150 back in 03.... i think its great for boosting gain at low volumes. seems to pronounce chords well, cuts em through. but then again some people like the organic tube gain so its really preference.

Hmmm...I would think the type of technology that it produces would be quite useful

Humans can't hear a change in phase anyway. Grant used to have one and he swore by it but I couldn't tell a damn difference between when it was on and when it was off.

this. if you like the natural character of the amp, dont bother with a maximizer. takes it away and makes your tube amp sound fizzy and unrefined.

I use one on our vocalist live. Helps him stand out in the mix a bit more. Keep it away from guitars.

Well the only way the rackmounts work for guitar is through the loop. The pedal can go through the front, but the rackmounts dont work that way..
