I booed the Spikes pick at first because I wanted Williams. But think about it. They re-sign Wilfork, and then draft 2 3-4 linebackers inside and outside. I think that means Belichick is feeling more confident that he can get back to doing what he knows how to do on defense. All of a sudden the Patriots are a linebacker oriented team again. Spikes was in the top 20 consideration before he ran a 2 hour 40. He's a fiery player, and a huge hitter. Mayo, Spikes, Cunningham, TBC, Adalius Thomas, Tyrone McKenzie, Gary Guyton. There's a lot of potential there. I know zero about Taylor Price beyond him being really goddamn fast, and he's supposed to be a solid route runner. |
