The_ExhumeD said:
My main guitar: eppiphone lespaul custom quiltop I play this becuase my gibson les paul double cutaway was stolen when someone broke into my house and when I deciding to go buy a new gibson I played this eppiphone and saw, felt, heard no difference than a gibson les paul single cutaway and decided to invest the rest of the money in other gear I also like the paint job, -very unique- otherwise I play an ibanez rg 370- nothing special has a good crunch and you can throw the thing aorund without it going out of tune Had a 1960's hondo reformed with a gibson pickups, I took the logo off and revarnished the headstock, I also replaced all the pots and hardware, great guitar - but I traded it for some drum stuff I had owned a bc rich mockingbird at one point that was given to me by a relative- it fucking sucked fuck bc rich, theyre shitty, heavy and they look stupid if I was to get a new guitar Id go for a jackson mh300 or something like that, Ive been looking into getting a new guitar for a few months but I havnt seized the oportune
bernardo rico, the founder of bcrich, was a mexican luthier who hired a man by the name of Neal moser who design the bcrich bick, seagul, he also designed active electronics, 10 string guiytars, the badass and kahler quad fixed bridges, the 8 string bass, indirectly the warlock, and has been building guitars since the 60's. I normally don't say much when it comes down to equi[tment on this site because not alot of you know much about guitars and specifically luthiers (no offense) but please, the next time you insult something in vein, inform yourself. ESP, Jackson, and even gibson are heavily influenced by bcrich and it's luthiers like neal moser and even Ken patin from worchester mass(he founded yavcon guitars, check out yavcon.com) you may not like his shapes, but his laminating is among the finest in the world and he works for Neal (check out mosercustomshop.com) I sugest the next time you say an entire company sucks when the only guitars you have played by them are 300$ imports made by korean children, you at least try brodening your horizons by playing an actual handmade piece designed by the most innovative men in the world. I am in the process of writing a quote to Neal for an archtop baritone that will be inlayed in obsidian(quickly cooled lava) no person with the ability to lazer cut hardened lava and put it on a guitar. tell me thats the work of a crappy guitar company. and also calling them crappy when they designed every single feature on two of the guitars you mentioned above is a little ignorant. ESP has been copying bcrich and moser for years, as have ibanez and jackson. go to thier japanese sites or russian sites (espguitars.net, espguitars.co.ru) and you will notice how many more guitars they have across seas. it's because they steal thier designs and can only sell where US copywrite laws don't aply. and for the rest of you. imports suck. My dream guitar (and I am in the process of having it built) is an ESP horizon II custom with a tonepros bridge and x2n dimarzio pickups. pearl inlaying around the neck, body, and headstock, imperial tuners, ebony fretboard, AAAAA quilt maple top with a seethru blue sunburst and zero heel. The omen 6 is identicle to the ESP LTD MH series, but what do you expect, ESP and schecter are the same company. they play like any other import. BC Rich custom shop guitars very rarely exceed 2 grand. BCRich guitars were only made in japan for about three years when they were owned by a company called class axe... they were thre first bcr imports and were made in nayoga japan to be exact. other than that, they were all made in korea, along with jackson, ibanez, esp, schecter, and most other guitars except kept the import name 'NJ' series. They are currently owned by HHI inc and make a much different guitar than the older mockingbird you played. and gibson is crap because they will take two identicle guitars, cut right form the same tree with the exact same specs but charge drastic differences because it has someones name on it. esp is guity of the same thing. anything else clear up can I? :yoda:
