Hivesmasher has parted ways with Jason Gibbs & seeks new musicians[views:11599][posts:52]________________________________ [Jun 8,2010 4:58pm - brodown ""] After a great run, Hivesmasher and Jason have decided to part ways. It was an amicable split and there's no hard feelings being harbored by either party. We wish the best of luck both for Gibbs in his next musical endeavor and for the band he is now managing, Dopapod. (It's been fun man, you'll be missed!) Additionally, Justin informed us all that his role in the band must change over the next few months. Since he got married, bought a condo, and is going to start law school in the fall, he will only be available to play local shows on a limited schedule. Said Steele of his new position, "I'm going to rock and roll forever, as the eternal albatross around the neck of Hivesmasher!" We decided as a group it was of primary importance to keep the core of the band together, and as such Justin will continue playing with us when he can and will remain an intregal part of the writing process. This leaves us the need for two people to fill two distinct roles in this band--a full-time member, and a 'live member.' We'd definitely prefer guitar players for both of these roles, but if you're a fucking beast of a bassist, we should talk anyway. For a full time guitarist, first and foremost we're looking for someone that will show up to everything. And we fucking mean every-fucking-thing. We're in this to make something of it, and if you aren't, don't waste our time or yours. Other than dedication, you must have the gear, have the chops to play the tunes, have the right to buy booze legally (or have a REALLY good fake) and have a good attitude. We would certainly welcome and accommodate creative input from a dedicated member, but this is not a major requirement as we've already got a good system worked out. We don't want a revolving door in this band, so if you're interested, be seriously interested in making this YOUR BAND for the long haul. This isn't about finding someone to come along for a ride for a little while, we want another equal member. That all being said, you'll be surrounded by people equally as dedicated and passionate as you. For a live guitarist, we're a bit more flexible. Sometimes we'll need someone to come on the road for a weekend/week/longer, sometimes we'll just need help locally when Justin is too busy pretending to be a lawyer. We would highly prefer to find one person who has a schedule that would allow him to make damn near all of our shows, but if that is not possible we could make other arrangements on a case-by-case basis.
