| _______________________________ [Jun 30,2010 12:55am - Lamp ""] So some general thoughts about tonight... -For whatever reason, every show in Providence has a high ratio of smoking hot girls. Doesn't matter who's playing. This rules. -Downtown harbors a lot more weirdos than it used to. Not the good kind either. Some random dude asked me if I needed any pills. -Speaking of the crowd, either there were a lot of Massholes there or just people I don't normally see at shows. It was pretty packed for a Tuesday night. -The new restaurant at AS220 rules, I had a pulled pork sandwich that was just great. -Denimvenom has apparently added a bassist and violinist since I last saw them over three years ago. Bored the shit out of me instantly. -The Body was loud as fuck! I can't believe this is only a two piece band, not to mention the guitarist can get his vocals over all the noise without a microphone! I hadn't seen the Body in five years either so it was definitely something I was looking forward to. The set was a bit short though. -Bastard Noise, what can I say... watching Eric Wood play bass, I truly feel like I'm observing someone with a highly functional brain. The facial expressions he makes are great and the songs are all well written. Not to mention that bass tone is so distinct it sticks out like a sore thumb. Something oddly heartwarming to hear live. Fucking killer. |
