my money's on the knicks... best thing for the lebron "brand"

only way he gets my respect is if he stays in cleveland. anything else is a "ha-ha" slap in the face to those fans

It's either knicks or heat. The nets have nothing to offer and I think he wants a change of scenery. Amare being in NY is sexy, but Wade, Bosh, and Lebron is retarded. Just hand them the championship for the next 6 years.

Haha, when was Cleveland ever open in the first place? That city is a cess pit. The sore loser fans of that filthy city are literally burning james jerseys. Saw it on ESPN. Bunch of queers.

if they can play together, they'll be unstoppable...3 of the 10 best players in the NBA in their prime on the same team is scary

God damnit. This is going to hurt my nba watching. Who can even compete vs this team? Even if they get a bunch of walk ons to play with those 3 they will win titles...

did LBJ, Wade, and Bosh take less money then they could've? if not, they have to trade Beasley away, and the only other player they currently have signed is Mario Chalmers

Can you really blame Clevo for taking this so hard? They built that whole team all the way down to the napkin holders in the concession stands around one guy and he didn't give a shit.

Roger Clemens anybody?

CLEVELAND -- Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert says LeBron James "quit" during the playoffs and should be accountable for his actions.

Gilbert, who posted a letter to Cavs fans on the team's website shortly after James announced he plans to sign with Miami, tells The Associated Press late Thursday night that he feels "personally betrayed" by James and that it's "accountability time."

In a phone interview with the AP, Gilbert says "people have covered up for [James] for way too long. Tonight we saw who he really is."

Gilbert says James quit on the Cavs during their second-round series against the Boston Celtics, who rallied from a 2-1 deficit to eliminate Cleveland.

In the letter posted on the Cavaliers' website Gilbert called the process on James' free agency "narcissistic, self-promotional build-up culminating with a national TV special of his 'decision' unlike anything ever 'witnessed' in the history of sports and probably the history of entertainment."

Gilbert told Cavs' fans: "You simply don't deserve this kind of cowardly betrayal.

"I PERSONALLY GUARANTEE THAT THE CLEVELAND CAVALIERS WILL WIN AN NBA CHAMPIONSHIP BEFORE THE SELF-TITLED FORMER 'KING' WINS ONE"

Gilbert promised that "curse" on Cleveland sports would follow James to Miami.

"The self-declared former 'King' will be taking the 'curse' with him down south." Gilbert wrote. "And until he does 'right' by Cleveland and Ohio, James [and the town where he plays] will unfortunately own this dreaded spell and bad karma."

Gilbert finished the letter by promising to put his focus on bringing a championship to Cleveland with the Cavaliers.

"I PROMISE you that our energy, focus, capital, knowledge and experience will be directed at one thing and one thing only:

"DELIVERING YOU the championship you have long deserved and is long overdue...."

i dont see the heat winning the title next year... 60 something wins...most likely. but pat riley has to be on the sideline, and could mold them into a TEAM by the later half of the season, if then they could be rather hard to slow down in the playoffs.

As much as I'd love to see it happen... the Cavaliers just moved back about 2 decades from being able to win an NBA title.

Geez, everyone acts like Lebron James is the second coming of Christ. He's just a kid who plays basketball. I'm very invested into sports but this hype is ridiculous.

His hype is partially created by himself and his agent.

I'm sure Riley will "step in" if the Heat are like .500 after 20 games with Spoelstra as coach.

...Just like he did to Van Gundy in 2005 with Shaq & Wade leading the way to a championship. Van Gundy gave some bullshit excuse about wanting to have some free time or whatever. And then Riley collects a ring.

and the fact that james is really the most physically gifted player player in the game. that is undeniable. whether that wins you championships is a different thing. if they win and this new big 3 works, no one will be able to talk about egos and playing for money... sure they get a big pay check, but he left a lot of money per season to leave and share a court/give the next several mvp trophies to kobe bryant/brian scalabrine.

i can dream can't i?

sorry man, there is no defending the hype that has been created over lebron. that tv special was the dumbest thing in the history of American sports. I personally believe he will get injured soon because of his playing style, or he should be playing football instead. his move to Miami tells me he's not the greatest basketball player of all time and lacks the leadership and balls Jordan, bird, magic and all the other greats had. as a'hero' to most in the Cleveland area, he threw the white flag and said fuck you. The greats never do that. He has "chosen 1" tattoed on his back... How much of an ego can this guy have?

Well put mang! I have had it with all the hype leading up to and after the announcemnt. It actually makes me sick how revolting his ego has become. Specials, that tat, everything about this scum cock reeks. I hope he ends up with a career ending injury that is so terrible he has to shit in a bag.

i'm not defending shit... i'm just saying that the sports world worships at the alter of people that do things most people can't physically do. the egos people are talking about with regards to sports stars are all fed by the people that keep buying tickets and buying jerseys. it's fuckin cyclical. the only reason why he was able to do a special on espn is because espn knew people would eat the shit up.
i haven't done any homework on ratings and such, but as much as people all said that they weren't going to watch, most people watched if they were into sports and everyone made money, charitable or not.
the whole thing is so overblown... but it's something to talk about. the only thing dumber than his press conference was the thing that miami held with all three of them the next day.
cleveland's little boy is going off to school to sew his royal oats. i wanna see nate robinson in a celts jersey dunking over lebron's head.
