The road that goes between the white mountains of new hampshire. so many camping grounds, swimming holes, mountain trails, etc. there seems to be a ton more people going here then there was 10+ years ago but it is still awesome.
perhaps the best thing about it is how similar the word is to kangamangus - according to urbandictionary that is 1.)The act of shooting a hole in someone's head and hanging them by that hole from a clothesline.

shitty cell phone pics of a typical area off the road:

not the white mountains but close enough:

It took me 2 years of living in NH to say the name of that road correctly, let alone spell it. Kancamagus Highway is correct, often misspelled as Kangamangus and Kangamagus.

Get out of my state, Masshole. Haha, kidding. It is really nice up there. Spend some money while you're here, this sorry state needs your $MassCash$.

Back in MA now.
I'll tell you one thing: your highways are paved and smooth while ours are tge worst in the country. Are you sure your state needs money or is it that the politicians don't pocket it like this state?

this is easily my favorite place in the world to go. I do it about once a year. Picnics, smoking sessions, even wild sex under a waterfall at 3am, this place's got it all.

yea man it is a magical area.
it has more and more people each time I go; there were tons of CT plates everywhere. Worst people. CT people are way worse than MA people.

that's just a symptom of when you're going, that place has been packed with people from all over every summer. The best time to go is the late fall.... cus the water is still the same FREEZING temp, and the air is cooler, so the water feels warmer.. and there's like NO people, and you'll probably see buffalo.

Have you checked out North Conway? It's the town full of the outlet stores on the northern side of the highway.

my parents rave about this road, my dad says there is no highway like it during the fall. i've never been, but it's on my list.

yup yup, the fall's the way to go. I LOVE it in the fall..... Tony, now that i have a car, we should make a road trip this fall up there, a long-ass bone cruise with a grim, nature-inspired sound track... of course you're invited too Jim.

yes man I was in north conway when you thought i was butthurt.
I wouldn't recommend the North Conway sceneic railroad in summer.
I like going up there in late sept, early oct. going in the summer is okay, depending on how hot it is. You can still hike up a mountain and only run into 5 people

MA roads are bad, but try NJ/NY/CT roads if you want true misery.

VT/NH/ME have the best maintenance on their paving infrastructure.

Worst roads I've ever been on? Louisiana. Fact.

Touche. I've driven in NJ, NY, CT and I'd say their roads are equallly as bad.
The roads out in th Midwest are awesome.
LA? What parts? I don't remember the highways being too bad considering they don't get the snow down there. But for dirt roads and back roads? Definitely

buffalo, moose, whatever. And yeah, there's people all over that place in the fall because it's fucking BEAUTIFUL up there. I dislike people as much as the next guy, but that place is magical no matter who's there.....

the kangamangus, how the fuck does that work?

95 in CT is a contantly torn up piece of shit. I usually stick to 84 or 91 when passing through that state.

I don't consider 95 part of any state. in CT, I think of 84 and 91. Both are great roads. my only complaint on both is south of hartford, they are only 2 lanes when they need to be 5 lines.

95 is horrible, but sometimes unavoidable depending where you are going.

Wasn't it part of 95 where a bunch of people died a few years back? That bridge in Bridgeport CT or New Haven or whatever.
Speaking of bridges collapsing, I went over that MN bridge many times before it collapsed.. You would have never guessed it was going to do that. Nice little ride into Minneapolis.

went swimming off the Kanc on the natural rock slides not 3 weeks ago after bike week....love it there.

yeah, the pool at the bottom of the natural rock slides has a big rock right in the middle that kids jump off, it's a great place for romantic time in the evining. (although that area is REAL creepy at night, there isn't a light for miles.)

FACTBOMB: When I worked in NH I covered a town meeting in Bellows Falls, VT. Blew my mind when they motioned and approved to repave a road where a huge pothole had opened up TWO DAYS PRIOR, considering the potholes on Route 99 in Everett haven't been filled since I got my learner's permit.
