It is NOT a masterpiece but a very good movie. Music was awesome too. Hans Zimmer- need I say more? Nolans modern style of film making is cool, but he's missing something in each movie. Best part is when Paris gets folded in half like a sandwich. |

I hate the seats and armrests, and the small screen/crappy surround sound. But I digress. Movie was good, better than I expected it to be. I didn't see any previews for it though, so for me I was just expecting a Dicaprio Matrixy movie. If you see it, go for the more visually stunning experience at IMAX or home HD theater, you spoiled rich fuck. |

When DiCaprio's on screen with him he loses something, but when Leo's acting with "his dad" (I was surprised by him, won't say who) he seemed to act a hundred times better. The plot wasn't THAT much of a mindfuck, it was a little convoluted, but they did a great job within the whole "dream plot" thing. Looks beautious, obviously, especially the Jamiraquoaiouoai-esque fight scene. B+/A-/3 outta 4 thumbs |

Funny, i recently found the time to get around to watching this, and i can see how people would make the obvious matrix analogy, but other than having the subjective nature of reality as a major theme, i think inception is totally different, and IMHO, a LOT better. To review it succinctly, i would say that when a movie that toys with perception and reality can engage me with its plot to the point where i can suspend disbelief of some of the more outrageous plot devices (how do they dream in groups and why is everyones dream perfectly realisitic? why doesnt leo di caprios wife become a multi headed dragon spewing forth maple syrup while his mother watches fanning herself with a palm leaf to the sound of wagners tristan und isolde played backwards?) ...then i consider it a cinematic home run. As for the matrix, even the first one which was sorta good i kept getting pissed off why i wasnt given a proper explanation of why you had to die when you died in what was in essence a dream that you could wake up from. |
