Basically, no one properly speaks English anymore because oral language differs from written language. Over time, sayings get shortened and letters are chopped off. The implementation of computer jargon (i.e. "2" instead of to, and "u" instead of you, etc.) will ultimately butcher the language even moar. The English languge has multiple words and synonyms for everything; a true conglomeration of idiosyncratic attributes from other (older) languages. It is constantly evolving and grammar really has no ground to hold on to any more. |
