To: News Desk Date: Jan. 13, 2003 Contact: Starr Communications Fax: (818) 985-5807 LOS ANGELES MUSIC MANAGER PLEADS GUILTY IN MURDER-FOR-HIRE CASE Music business manager JAMES HOWARD PAUL, JR. has entered a plea of guilty in the murder-for-hire case of his wife, BONNIE, according to a spokesman from the Los Angeles Police Department. James Paul had most recently managed the career of Los Angeles based heavy metal band HELLION who recently finished a tour of Japan. Hellion was a favorite of MTV's HEADBANGERS BALL during the 80s and has performed at festivals including the MONSTERS OF ROCK. In addition to pleading guilty, Paul was also charged with attempted breaking and entering of singer ANN BOLEYN's home. Hellion recently signed a record deal with MASSARCE RECORDS of Germany. Their new album, WILL NOT GO QUIETLY, is scheduled for release on January 27th. James Paul has not been involved with the groups' management since the group became aware of his legal problems. No one from Hellion was available for comment at the time of this news release. An update will be released to the media as more information is released by the Los Angeles County District Attorney. Hellion is currently seeking new US repreentation. In the meanwhile, OLE BANG, who also handles KING DIAMOND and CANDLEMASS is taking care of the band's affairs. |
