Maroney and a 6th to the Broncos for a 4th rounder.

I honestly don't like it. This town gave up on a talented running back too soon.

Talented? What the fuck have you been watching for 4 years? Dancing with the Stars? Guy couldn't stop dancing and being indecisive. I usually agree with your analysis, but not on this one.
Shaugnessy would agree with me.

ITT: university of minnesota standout can't make it in the bigs and people still stand up for him after many tries

Fred Taylor, Sammy Morris or GTFO

This is a paramount trade which has me clapping every minute. I couldn't watch Maroney being Maroney any more. Remember, I have better hair than Bob Ryan, I write honest columns, and I am the best Boston sports writer ever. I know what's up.

His dancing around phase sucked. But when he actually runs downhill he's one of the better 2nd effort backs in the league. I dunno where the dude went wrong, but yeah too much dancing.

I love Taylor and Morris... but they're made of glass. I'm praying they stay healthy.

Anybody think the Pats would dangle a bargain 1 year in front of Willie Parker?

He was quick, but like Bethel Johnson, lacked the intelligence to use it.

Maroney either was hurt, danced around in the backfield too much, or fumbled...there was no other option with him over the past 4 years

if McDaniels thinks he can fix Maroney, more power to him

yeah... but he looked sooooo good his rookie year. what a shame.

one thing I will commend Maroney on is when he got into th open field...he looked like a completely different player once he got beyond the line on a swing or a screen

He had potential, but I dont see him making it in the NFL. I'd like him to prove me wrong. I know he'd study film with coach bill and was a hard worker, so I commend him for that

I was actually thinking about this today when everyone was wondering about rumors of trading Mankins, then this trade comes out of fucking nowhere. I'm ok with it. Maroney has pissed away four years and has old RBs close to retirement school him at every turn. Now, I'm gonna wait and see if they pull trigger on Mankins, preferably to get much better then a 4th rounder.

I have a feeling Mankins is gonna sign within the next few weeks....in fact, why pay a guy when you're not paying him?

Ya think? I dunno.......I think he's gonna hold out and if enough teams come begging for O-line help (i.e. Dallas, Green Bay or whoever else gets more injures) we've got a nice chip worth something.

I meant to say "why trade a guy"

I believe what Kraft said yesterday, which is why I think this is closer than it seems

Should have used Maroney in the open field more, on screens and such. But whatever, dont really hate the trade. Pats draft Ingram next year!!!!

I've been drooling over the prospect of this for the last year. Come on Raiders, give us a nice juicy draft spot to grab this guy.

Resign Moss and hopefully draft this kid. With out new TEs and Tate having a year under there belt I could not think of a better offense ever.

This year is supposed to have a pretty nice crop of running backs, so even if we don't land Ingram, we could get a dude hopefully better then Fred Astaire was.
Eitherway, everyone root for the Raiders to blow goats this season!

green ellis will win more rings than maroney. he's better for the pats than this guy was. natty larry was nothing but constant reminder of the people we passed on in the 06 draft.

Of all the guys taken between 22-32 there's only a few who really out performed Maroney. Addai has had a lot more yardage, but he's really inconsistent and I don't consider him worth 1st round status either. Knowing that Deangelo Williams was on the board is a killer though. He's a similar style runner to Maroney but does everything 10x better. Knowing the Pats had another 39 picks to go before Maurice Jones Drew went off the board is a major league killer too.

I'd take just about anybody in that second round over Chad Jackson though. What an absolute fucking stiff. Oh, except Kellen Clemens. lul.

Jackson over Jennings is a killer....YUCK

imagine if they picked Jennings instead and either DWill or MJD over Maroney? they'd have at least 2 or 3 more rings

they'd have 3 straight undefeated seasons

Ugh, I'm looking at the numbers right now. Jennings had 1259 yards and 14 TDs in his senior year at Western Michigan. The guy hardly snuck up on the draft board. In hindsight it really makes your head spin how Jackson and Moss went before him.
