it's 50 something. thinking seriously about. I like to wait until it's under 55 at night. Thinking about lighting a fire too, but I don't have much wood.

where do you live, virginia? It's definitely dropped to the low 50s within the last week in MA. Granted it hasn't stayed there, but I saw a thermometor read 52 on one of the mornings this week.

Turned on around last week. It snowed two days ago. I used to wait until late in the fall to turn it on, but I've developed cold urticaria over the past few years so I look like I'm covered in goddamn bee stings if I let the house get cold.

I turned on my heat for the first time in this particular apartment the other day, just so I could get the gnarly burning dust smell out ahead of time.

It went from 58 degrees to about 85 in roughly 2.3 seconds. Last time I do that...

I hate this time of year. (at least inside.) it's fucking beautiful outside, and people just get freaked out cause they think it's GOING to get cold... so they turn their heat up... while normal people just wear a sweatshirt (or not, it's still over 50) so that when people like me get on the train, go into someone's office, or go to someone's house WITH a sweatshirt on, i sweat profusely. It sucks. It really doesn't make sense, it's cold enough outside that people are putting on sweatshirts and jackets.... so why would the T keep their heat up to fucking 75? With all the people on the train it feels like 85 (probably is 85). Can't we assume that people that are on the train are going to be dressed for the weather outside while riding on said train? It's miserable, public transportation should keep the temp at about 60, at least in the winter.

I grew up in Sarasota, FL. Summer here is nothing and winter doesn't bother me unless it's a blizzard.

The fact that it's too cold for some people this early on makes me laugh though. I mean, yeah it gets chilly sometimes, but in another two months is when you should start complaining. For now, enjoy the brisk days and last glimpse of the sun because it won't last long.

My dad lives off exit 5. Only 40-48 acres. He did seriously consider 700 acres off exit 7 or 8. CSB. but what is really c is that he got an external wood furnace last year to burn all the wood that he's cleared out of his land. The thing burns any wood and is tied into his oil furnace.

In my small apartment, all the heat comes in through a grate on the side of the stove. Add to the fact that we weather stripped most of the windows and it's been pretty cheap. I hadn't been planning to turn it on so early but about the beginning of the month our landlord came in and showed us how to turn the pilot light on in the stove and it's been on low most of the time since.
