Good Swedish stuff, I'm assuming by old Darkthrone you mean the stuff where they basically sounded like a Swedish death metal band. I'll add my some of my personal favourites from that period, Nihilist, Morbid, early Therion, Grave, Unleashed, Grotesque, and LIERS IN WAIT. For newer Swedish DM, check out Tribulation, NOT the old band, who are also cool, but rather the newer Swedish band. Nice to see Treblinka mentioned in this thread, they have my favourite logo of all time. For American DM, I'm on a huge Obituary kick, throw in some Autopsy once in awhile. Also been digging Vasaeleth, who fucking rule, and Encoffination, for newer shit. |
