I see Enslaved has practically two bands, Frost era good shit and whatever proggy Opeth influence newer stuff that they've been pumping out albums for. I actually like most of it except I can't stand more than 30 seconds of Ruun. Now that they're headlining I'm hoping they play at least one song off Frost. Ghost is pretty solid 70's throwback stoner rock/metal, but people are butt hurt about it since they were marketed to the metal scene (presumably due to the members of Repugnant) instead of the stoner rock scene and got fairly popular fairly quickly. They are basically the Wolfmother of the metal scene. Alcest's EP was a huge impact to the black metal genre and then their later stuff were only okay. Still pretty decent musically, just not as good and not at all impactful or really relevant. |
