It does suck that she happened to die at 27 and will forever be mentioned along with Hendrix, Joplin etc etc. She doesnt deserve to be in that crowd I agree with that. I thought the record she got all that press for was cool, but for the most part, she had nothing to do with why it was cool. If you think the same way then you should probably explore the Dap Kings and Daptone Records. The Dap Kings were the backing band for most of the album and the label they record for puts out some really great music. |
