He opposes the Federal Marriage Amendment to the Constitution which bans all gay marriage, but he does indeed support the Defense of Marriage Act which prevents states from having to recognize other states gay marriages, under the argument that it's up to each state. What he's missing is the most powerful Constitutional argument is that of equal protection under the law, and thus marriage to every extent that it is a state institution must be equally available to all citizens. But at least it's not a fundie view of "ban it all" like Bachmann and Perry have. [/QUOTE]
