So I was at practice yesterday and during our set my poweramp lost sound. I was running a line 6 pod pro rack preamp with a rocktron velocity 300. The velocity was cranked all the way and i was controlling my volume from the line 6 preamp now i think that may have been part of the problem cause the clip light was coming on and off on the velocity as well as the line 6. has anyone experienced a problem like this or does anyone know what i might have done wrong?

Not sure if cranking the PA is the issue. I've ran my bass rig that way before with no problems, though its definitely not the first thought I have for my set up. I usually just put my pre at half to 3/4 and turn up the power amp from there, this way I don't push anything too hard.

Im just worried cause im getting my axe fx tomorrow with a mosvalve 962 and i just dont want it to crap out while im playing live. i was going to use the velocity as a backup pa but now i dont know if it works i will have to try it when i get out of work I just want to hook everything up right rather than paying the price having it blow or something. But yeah i will try your idea thanks dude.

Preamp-Volume first, then Poweramp-set to taste.
