I know some of you are either closet karaoke fans, or don't care and get up in front of the mic drunk to sing to that fine looking hag in the back of the room. Then there are some of you who have experienced a karaoke party at my band's space and either couldn't wait to leave, or couldn't wait to come back. Time and again, people have made requests at these parties for songs that most of us here are familiar with. Unfortunately, if you take a look at what the karaoke offerings are like online, or in a song binder at any bar's karaoke night, you will be confronted with mostly stale or obscure garbage. So each time I throw a karaoke party, I wind up having to say "no, I don't have that song. Yes, it's a travesty, someone should really do something about it." After a while I realized that it was time for me to change this sorry state of the karaoke world, so I bought some software and started a blog. I'll be releasing packs of songs in simple mp3+cdg format, with embedded album art and all. As aril knows, I strongly believe in file sharing, so posting blogspot-style made the most sense. Just posted the first pack of random requests I've received... http://metalkaraoke.blogspot.com
