An online petition created at change.org asks users for their support in replacing the band, saying "Detroit is home to so many great musicians and they chose Nickelback?!?!?!" According to MLive.com, the foursome is America's most popular foreign act since the Beatles with nearly 50 millions albums sold since 1996. They are currently promoting their upcoming album, Here and Now, and have two songs on the Billboard charts. As of Thursday morning, nearly 900 people had signed the petition. The game itself will feature the Lions against the Green Bay Packers in front of a national audience on FOX (12:30 p.m. ET). |
