I have a normal life outside of music and when I feel like playing out I play where the music goes down, regardless of what is hip and what aint. Fact: If you booked this ANYWHERE but fete I would not have posted in this thread at all. Most people in providence are aware of this venue and have already made up their minds about it. I'm simply relaying some facts about this place and my opinions on this club to the "RTTP audience" who are most likely not informed since there are not that many RI posters here. I didn't feel this venue was worthy of it's own thread here since the odds of metal shows that might happen there are pretty slim. But since a metal show happened to pop up there, I figured now might be a good time to bring it up on this forum.
The fact that I dislike your band actually has nothing to do with my contempt for fete music and mentioning it was most likely counter productive to my arguement. So I probably shouldn't have mentioned that at all. But since I did, I might as well do it again. Your band sucks.

1) I had a class at URI Providence a few years ago and one of the members (previous/current) of GSS was in the class. Super, super nice dude. Find it kind of funny they get absolutely destroyed on this board, but having been here for years and years, thems the breaks.
2) A good friend of mine is one of the main bookers at Fete, and so far I've only heard good things, and definitely nothing about having to rent/pay to play. From what I've been told, there are two rooms (my friend books acts for both rooms, of all genres of music) and I've only heard good things. Obviously, a legit (as in, corporate) venue in Olneyville is never going to be everyone's bag, but I haven't heard a bad thing yet about this place from anyone besides this thread, and my friend is one of the most solid people I know, but opinions are always going to vary. Makes me really interested in checking this place out when I visit the East again.
All in all, there is my useless and unnecessary two-cents. I'm gonna have some beers, y'all stay classy.
