The focus of psychic energy granted aril the ability to de-age himself, float through the air, and telekinetically disconnect the OP while surrounded in a powerful blue glow. Aril has the ability to regenerate his form when his current body is mortally wounded. This process results in his body undergoing a transformation, gaining a new physical form. Regenerations can be traumatic events. In 2008, aril required the use of a Zero Room, a chamber shielded from the outside universe that provides an area of calm for him to recuperate. He comments that there is an excellent polygonal zero room beneath the junior senate block on Gallifrey. Aril's personality also sometimes goes through a period of instability following a regeneration, resulting in confusing logic and circular arguments.
