inheritance: band #1 that I didn't know and was seeing for the first time. they were pretty excellent. it was a proggy-death metal band. the vocals were decent deathmetal vocals. Their songs was pretty cool too. they would be playing straight up DM and then break into melodic section. They had a bit of that new-bedford melodic "sweden" sound, but not too much as to make it overwelming. dark bleeds light: band #2 that I didn't know and was seeing for the first time. they reminded me a bit like ion dissonance/FASSW vocal wise, which was an odd contrast to the music. it worked strangly enough, but the music was a lot more melodic. screams of erida: band #3 that I didn't know and was seeing for the first time. they were definitly my favorite surprise of the night (the worse surprise being spike's being closed of course). they had 3 guitar players up on that tiny o'brien's stage. Vocally, I would have sworn it was chas moore (soul-embraced) singing. they seemed to have at least one guitarist always fixing something with their guitars.. so I guess I'll have to wait to hear them with all three blazing. noosebomb: my 3 or 4th time seeing them. pretty awesome as usual. even though mikey (drums) has been really sick lately, he still sat there and played for all us. They weren't as distorted at o'briens so you could hear a lot more of what they were doing. I never noticed before, but you can hear some led zeplin when they are playing. I also got a copy of the CD which I will be listening to later on today.
