I go back to the example of the intro on Today as something none of these bands did anything close to, certainly not Nirvana or Sonic Youth. Way too melodic. Out of all those bands maybe Garbage does somewhat comparable layering but still not as melodically interwoven as that one. Of course, I'm cherry picking by pointing out Corgan's best song, the guy wrote LOTS of crap. |
