The album, released yesterday in North America (September 21st in Europe), continues Indie's proud tradition of obscure and evil black metal originating from the icy Norwegian wilderness. The album artwork, as featured above, was done by Truls Espedal (Enslaved, Theatre of Tragedy, Djevel). The band - which consists of T. Ciekals (Djevel, Ljå), Mannevond (Koldbrann, Urgehal) and Dirge Rep (Orcustus, Gehenna, Gorgoroth, Enslaved) - was originally formed in 2004 after T.Ciekals contacted Mannevond. The two had a burning desire to create "an older and more sinister sound that was unique to any other black metal band around." Shortly thereafter came their debut release, a 7" entitled "To Strangle The Hero Of Heaven," which gained the band an underground cult following. Yet despite the record's success, NETTLECARRIER took a nearly three-year hiatus until they reformed in 2010 to start recording their new release.
