________________________________ [Jan 25,2013 3:02pm - Mark_R ""] I have the 2010 anniversary version of CFH but the EQ on the high frequencies is so exaggerated that it's unlistenable unless you've spent decades grinding your hearing to shreds already. Feels like icepicks in your ears. Stick with the original version. The bonus live disc is kinda neat though. |

Got to see them in 99 opening for Black Sabbath in CT. The band's ability to play both tight and drunk remains unsurpassed to this day, and Dime's guitar playing has always been phenomenal. Pantera is one of those bands where for whatever reason they sound way better when you're listening to them than when you're thinking about going to listen to them. Better that than the reverse. |

________________________________ [Jan 27,2013 8:51pm - mike29 ""] I always liked Pantera. Stopped listening after Trendkill, though. First 4 songs on FBD always blew me away, plus Slaughtered is heavy as shit. First saw them at The Channel touring CFH, opening for Wrathchild America and Annihilator. As far as Anselmo albums, though, Down's NOLA destroys anything Pantera did in my opinion. Most annoying Anselmo moment for me: Superjoint Ritual headlining NEMHF when his drunken rambling between songs was at an all time douche-chilling level. |
